But engineers working on complex designs quickly discover the boundaries of what an automated self-service platform can support. Where JLCPCB works well

For quality-critical applications, look for IPC-6012 Class 3 capability, incoming material certification, statistical process control data and willingness to provide custom documentation packages.

For specialty constructions (rigid-flex, RF, HDI, heavy copper), verify that the manufacturer fabricates these board types in-house rather than brokering them to a subcontractor. In-house fabrication means the engineering team has direct control over the process and direct communication with the production floor — critical when a construction decision needs to be made during fabrication.
